Greater longevity than akadama

chabasai® is both resistant during handling yet gentle on the root system. Its hardness on the Mohs scale is around 3,5 compared to akadama which is only 1.

This difference is easily verified simply by handling chabasai®: the granules remain intact when pressed between the fingers whereas akadama granules crumble easily. The difference is even more evident when the granules are wet. Consequently, chabasai® has a much greater longevity than akadama: according to our observations chabasai® lasts 2 to 3 times longer.
